Nihonno is a collection of electronic tracks with almost four hours of running time, which were created parallel to my visual work (Instagram: axelbergk). I like listening to them myself while working, but also using random mode on headphones as a sleep music while taking a nap. All tracks were created on the iPad and can best be described as abstract ambient music.

My work approach is a mix of improvisation and random sounds. I make short music snippets of synthesizers and other apps on the iPad, and use the "Borderlands" app's random algorithms to recompose them. The result are tracks that balance on the sheath between wanted and serene. This creates something like an empty middle of the notes, a beginning and end of the things that surround us without naming them. With this I follow a similar approach to sound design as with my visual work, which is also created on the iPad. Similarities in the approach with the Japanese concept of "Wabisabi" or the Chinese "Wuwei" are quite deliberate.
